What a glorious 2 days! The weather has been perfect, warm and beautiful so we had to get OUT and enjoy it!
Yesterday Noni, Lily and myself took a little drive to Lawrencburg to buy some candles. Lawrenceburg is this tiny town in Kentucky that has NOTHING but they have this little candleshop that sells the BEST candles that I have ever had in my life. They burn so evenly and down to nothing and they have the BEST smells ever. You can view them here at Lawrenceburg Candles. Anyway, these candles are the greatest (and I LOVE candles) and willingly make the drive when I run out...their Sugar Cookie is wonderful and I love the Season's Harvest as well. Anyway, we came home with lots of candles (we are donating some of them to the Miracle for Madison event) with 2 new scents called Butter Cookies (I haven't decided if I like that one just yet) and Hot Toddy (which I am LOVING). We also walked up and down the town enjoying the beautiful weather, Lily was loving it and just chattered away.
Today we headed out and went to the Summit Shopping Mall. It is an outdoor mall with lots of stores and it was just beautiful today! Lily had a BALL, she loves going there and seeing all the people walking around and just shopping, she loves being outside. Noni went with us and we just walked around, bought a few things (of course for Lily) and just had a really good time. Lily chit-chattered away and made sure to let us know when we were not walking fast enough or when we stopped some place she did not like! She is so bossy! She HATES Bed, Bath and Beyond with a passion, we were not in there for more than a couple of minutes before she started "bossing" us to get out and she doesn't like Barnes and Noble either (although she was actually good there today but we didn't look at books, just got something to drink). She LOVES Gap and Build a Bear but mainly she just likes to keep moving. Lily got an Easter/Birthday dress at Gap along with some shirts and we bought several things at Bed, Bath and Beyond (had to make it quick and get out of there...). It was just fun and so nice, it was great to get out and about again after being stuck inside most of the winter.
Tomorrow will be a busy day as well, School is at 1:15 then Lily is going over to Noni and Pappy's so I can....drum roll please.....GET THE BALL ROLLING ON MY DIVORCE. That is right, after almost 4 years of being seperated we are finally doing it for real! Now you guys might be asking yourselves "why this long????". It started off simple, he was able to keep me on his insurance so it was a kind of buisness decision..well last year, quite unexpectly, he took me OFF his insurance without letting me know (I found out upon a trip to the doctor), then getting ahold of him has proved to be quite the challenge (I had NO idea of his phone number and had to always call his sister). Back in the fall I spoke with Brian about doing this and it has actually taken this long to get everything together to actually do it. We are filing ourselves (avoiding Lawyer fees) because it is a simple divorce, there is nothing to seperate or divide and in Kentucky there is a "no fault" divorce law (I think that is what it is called) AND with kids you HAVE to do joint-custody, no other choice (unless abuse etc.) so it is quite simple, just a matter of filling out the paperwork and taking it to a Clerk to witness us signing then 60 days later the judge signs it. Easy and simple.....and FINALLY I am legally NOT bound to him (although I would say after 4 years I am not bound to him anyway). I am excited and you can believe we are having a BIG party 60 days from tomorrow! I am going out with several friends (one of them being the ex-wife before me...Zachary's mom), Travis is the desigated driver, Noni and Pappy are keeping Lily overnight and I am having some FUN! A celebration for sure! Sorry to ramble :), as you can tell I am excited about it!
Next weekend we were supposed to be going to the Miracle for Madison event but some other things have come up so we will be unable to attend. I am soooooooo sorry! I will miss going this year for sure but I know they are going to raise some MAJOR money for research, they always out do themselves! If anyone is in the area and would like to attend I highly recommend it. They simply do a smash up job from the afternoon thing for the kids to the elegant dinner in the evening, it is a WONDERFUL time for sure. One cool thing, they do this video before the start of dinner and children with SMA flash up on it to music, it is a tear-jerker seeing all the kids....but the cool thing this year is the picture of Lily's eyes that I took is going to start it off! I am so sad I am going to miss that! I am thilled though that my picture....which I love...is going to lead it off.
How cool is that???? That is the picture by the way :). Anyway, it is not to late to make reservations AND you can also show up at the door and buy tickets SO if you are in the area (or live close) it is a great event to go to. ALL money goes to SMA Research at OSU, Miracle for Madison is a GREAT organization and of course they are my friends as well, Madison is a BEAUTIFUL little girl (people have actually stopped us when we are out with Madison and think Lily and Madison are sisters AND people at the event last year thought Lily WAS Madison because Madison was not well enough to attend). Anyway, check them out at www.miracleformadison.org if you are interested or just want to check them out.
Ahhhh, I think that is long enough for tonight don't you think? Thanks for checking in on us......God Bless!
