We didn't end up going to the wedding and while I missed watching my friend get married it would have been a long night for Miss Lily but I heard the wedding was beautiful.
The weather is FINALLY getting it right, we have spent the past 2 days enjoying being outside, she loves driving her powerchair outside in the grass, over the bumpy terrain and I, of course, have a fun time watching her do it. She is so tired of driving from the living room to the kitchen and then back to the living room so being outdoors is helping to motivate her to want to get in her powerchair as well. She loves riding into the bushes in the front of the house and when we came in the house today after spending time outside I looked at this little tray thing under the front of the powerchair and she had collected some major grass and a few pinecones as well :). She thinks it is funny to either drive right for the hill in the front yard OR make a b-line right for the bushes and no matter WHERE she is in the yard she will do either one of those just to watch me make a run for her to get her to stop (stop is not something she will do, she will just keep on going). She is a funny girl.
Today we rode to Louisville to pick up some supplies from our DME company that supplies her with all of her BiPap stuff, feeding stuff, etc. Anyway, she loves riding in the BIG van so we took off to do that today. We got down to the DME and one of the Respiratory Therapists was standing outside, his name is Kelly and he is such a GREAT guy (he is the one that brought out our new BiPap and he really fell in love with Lily), he was so excited to see Lily, he just came right over to the van and got up there with her and chatted with her for a while. They all love her at Praxair and they do a GREAT job for us and getting us what we need. Anyway, when Kelly came in I was telling him about needing a new mask for Lily called a Nasal-Aire, something she could wear while in her Powerchair if she needed it and something she could use if she (God Forbid) gets sick. Anyway, he showed me this other mask called a "Snapp" mask and let us take it with us, I have to admit I think it is awsome. She wore it for a bit today while driving her chair (with her yelling at me because she wanted it OFF. She hates wearing her bipap during the day AND she doesn't think she needs it while in the powerchair either) but I made her at least try it to see if it will work. It works like a charm.
It doesn't cover her face up at all so she can still see (and I can still see her pretty face) but it does the job. I think it will work GREAT for certain things. She made me take it off pretty quickly but I think she will like it once I get her used to it. She is used to that big mask on her face but this is really lightweight and small. She won't use it to sleep because I think a mask gives her better pressure and she needs that pressure at night but when she needs a break during the day or when she isn't feeling well this should work just fine.
After we left the DME we headed to Target and had some fun spending money (one of MY favorite things to do) then when we got home we played outside in the yard for a long time. It was a nice day for sure.
I think it is supposed to rain tomorrow so I guess I will finish cleaning up the house that looks like a PIT right now.
On Tuesdays we watch American Idol and of course do the same on Wednesdays too (I am a faithful AI watcher), Lily HATES it so I have to get her settled with her movie then it is mommy's turn to watch what she wants to watch. I am SO in love with this show and my favorite on there is Chris, that man can ROCK!
Ok, time for bed....thanks for checking in on us! I added a few new pictures in the April Folder if you want to check them out!
****For some reason I could not get the pictures to upload so I will try again tomorrow****
