Today is the BIG DAY! Lily is officially 5 years old today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can hardly believe it, my baby has certainly grown up into such a beautiful, spunky, funny and WONDERFUL little girl.
She was so excited but thankfully managed to sleep *whew* and I stayed up and decorated the kitchen when she went to sleep and wrapped some presents for her and got things set up. When she woke up we sang "Happy Birthday" and of course got my kiss for the day. We hurried up and got dressed, showered (me), and ready to go because Mamaw and Papaw Barnett were coming over first thing so she put on her BEAUTIFUL dress, checked herself out in the mirror and we headed into the living room just in time visit for a while with Mamaw and Papaw and show them all her "tricks" and chatter when them for a while. They gave her a card with money and she was thrilled, she loves money all of a sudden and kept waving it around.
Once she was finished eating we headed up to Kroger to pick up her cake (really cute)...geez do you THINK it could be any hotter outside? We are miserable when we step out and HOPE that it cools down SOON. When we got home she layed on her pallet on the floor while I did a few things, chatted on the computer and cleaned a few things. Noni came over for a while and we blew up balloons and put the finishing touches on the decorating for when a couple of people come over tonight to share in some cake and ice-cream.
Lily is now laying back in the bedroom taking a break and cooling off naked ;-) for a while before we get back into party mode for this evening. She is having a GREAT day and is excited....she is waving around her money right now and I am cooling off on the couch for a while.
I will update later on the BIG BIRTHDAY...OH we went yesterday to have pictures taken at Picture People and I have to say I am very impressed! Here is one of them from yesterday and I will put some more in the May Folder but this is just a teaser for right now :-). 
I will put some more up tonight after we settle down for the night. I LOVED going there and had a tough time picking out 3 poses! She did perfectly and was such a diva, they fell in love with her as well and while we waited for the pictures we walked around the mall, she drove and did really well. I am impressed with how great she is doing with her powerchair!
Ok....I have to end for now, I will update later but thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes and emails we have recieved.....for any child 5 years old is a big birthday but for Lily this is such a huge thing as it is for any child with SMA type 1 like Lily, I am so grateful and thankful and look forward to many many many more birthdays with this amazing little girl who mean so much to not only me but to so many others as well.

Part 2!
We had such a wonderful time today, Lily was so into it but by the time we got to the cake and blowing out the candles it was starting to show, she wanted to relax and chill out....but she had a great time and is now asleep back in her bed. She loved her gifts, got a lot of money which she loves and the biggest hit was the newest Portable DVD player, it has a HUGE screen and is really nice from Noni and Pappy.
I am wiped out.....we had a ball and again, thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes.
Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter Lily! She certainly is amazing. I too am a parent to a special needs child and you are truly an inspiration for me. Your devotion and love for her makes me want to be a better mom to my son. Thank you!
